Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4284835 Here’s the list of fixes and improvements included in this latest patch: Provides protections from an additional subclass of speculative execution side channel vulnerability known as Speculative Store Bypass (CVE-2018-3639). These protections aren’t enabled by default. For Windows client (IT pro) guidance, follow the instructions in KB4073119. For Windows Server guidance, follow the instructions in KB4072698. Use this guidance document to enable mitigations for Speculative Store Bypass (CVE-2018-3639) in addition to the mitigations that have already been released for Spectre Variant 2 (CVE-2017-5715) and Meltdown (CVE-2017-5754)....

Windows 8.1 RT Update 3 Yesterday, Gabe Aul announced on Twitter that Windows RT is indeed getting an update, and it will be called Windows 8.1 Update 3. Microsoft Retiring Internet Explorer 11 Next Year In a blog post today, Microsoft exec Sean Lyndersay notes the following: It’s worth noting that this doesn’t affect Windows 10 customers on the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC). But consumer version will see an end to the support of IE 11. The so-called “IE Mode” supports older ActiveX controls and legacy sites, which some businesses actually use. Microsoft promises to support IE Mode in Edge at least through 2029....

Updated OneDrive Features The OneDrive web client UI is getting a makeover which includes new icons and colors. The new interface will be cleaner and more intuitive. It’s also getting a performance boost to make it more responsive. In addition to the cleaner interface, there will be an improved sharing experience. The new sharing features will be applied to Windows, Mac and the Web for a more consistent experience. It will support external sharing without requiring a Microsoft account....

Official NFL App The best place to start is with the official NFL app which is a central hub for essentially everything NFL. The Android and iOS versions provide scores in real-time, player stats, big play videos, up-to-date league news, and more. The app is free but includes in-app purchases including subscriptions to NFL Game Pass or NFL RedZone. When you set up an Outlook.com account, your Microsoft address is the default, but you can change it to something else. This is handy when you have multiple email accounts set up and want to use one account for business, another for personal, one for spam…etc. Set Default Account in Outlook.com Log in to your Outlook.com address and click Settings (gear icon).
