Here’s a look at the Processes tab in the Windows 8 Task Manager. It’s a lot more user friendly and easier to use for tasks like disabling startup programs. New Chromecast Entertainment Apps According to a post on the Google Chrome Blog today, Chromecast is adding seven more apps including Comedy Central, Sesame Street Go, Nickelodeon, EPIX, YuppTV and ENCORE Play. All of these apps, sans TuneIn, will require you to have a cable subscription to access their on-demand shows. And one of those allows you to stream broadcasts from over 100,000 radio stations, and millions of Podcasts with the TuneIn Radio app....

From his Google+ account, Google’s Senior Vice President of Commerce and Local, Jeff Huber, announced that after just 48 hours, the Google Maps iOS App received over 10 million downloads. As of this writing, Google Maps is still sitting atop the App Store’s Top Charts in the Free category along with “ElfYourSelf,” “Fun Run – Multiplayer Race” and the fourth application being another Google-owned app, YouTube....

When you visit maps.google.com, you might have already noticed the New lab icon that is up in the top-right of the browser. For those that haven’t, here it is! Rather than taking you to a different page or tab like Gmail lab does, the Google Maps Labs opens in its own in-page window. It’s a pop-up, but it isn’t a pop-up. Anyhow, here you can enable many of the groovy features that Labs has to offer....

How does it work? The new Google Maps preview feature is available in the Labs section of Gmail settings. The quickest way there is to press the green lab icon from your Gmail account. Scroll down through the many features listed until you get to Google Maps previews in mail. Click Enable and then save changes. Now when you get an email containing an address Gmail will automatically pull up its location in Google maps and provide you with the option to preview it at the bottom of your email....

Just tried out the new Google 411 Service. I have to admit, the service worked “ok” on the first try. For those of you who haven’t used the service yet, try it out. Dial 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411), say your City and State then the business your looking for. The service will do the rest. I’m not one for complicated calculations, I’m the first to admit I was never very good at math, but since I have Google open most of the time, having a calculator tool in it is great.
